Harriet Harman recently made a leaden attempt at self-deprecating humour. In response to a House of Commons question about her leadership ambitions, she said that she could not possibly become Prime Minister because, if she did, then the nation’s airports would be filled with men trying to flee the country.
The joke caused bewildered looks rather than laughs, partly because of her lack of comic timing, but more importantly because there is nothing funny about her aggressively feminist agenda, which treats men as either second-class citizens or a menace to society.

As a man who closes his eyes every night never knowing if this will be the night his wife decides to plunge a knife into his sleeping body and murder him or pour boiling oil on his face and genitals as has been threatened so many times I cant see the funny side either.

I’m just putting together the 3rd - Invisible Boy by Dr Fred Mathews - not sure you’ve read, getting old now, but it still hits the target on advocating for male sexual abuse survivor need. There will be more in the publication - case histories and links to the latest research on male survivors issues - Prof Liz Kelly has agreed to me republishing Weasel Words to address the cycle of abuse myths - its very brave of her in many ways.
I’m very cheeky survivor of both sexual abuse and the care system - and I wonder if you’d consider writing the forward - I’ve spoken to over 2000 men and women over the last 8 years and I can’t weigh their pain - I think its time a professional but real remainder was sent to people that - pain is pain and we should deal with that first then work out who’s to blame ?
I’m crazy - but as I friend once told me sanity isn’t all its cracked up to be ?
No problems if you can’t - I admire your courage and compassion - I can’t imagine what it must like to shout into the wind for so long- I’m just a starter and its a crazy place - its like challenging a religious belief - no logic !!
Anyway nice to know I’m not on my own in seeing things as they are.
